Spiritual Living

Chapter 10

Diving Deeper Into Changing and Non-Changing Reality

The rest of Spiritual Living are direct transcripts from tapes dictated with very little editing, if any:

We have talked about this unified field and how it exists and how its consciousness and how it is part of ourselves but how come we never experience it? How come I do not see it?

How come when I am eating my sundae hot fudge with whipped cream and a cherry on top and I do like to sprinkle some nuts on and they are delicious and especially on a hot summer day like it is today, although we may be reading this in winter, in which case it could be hot popcorn that we are having or toast with jelly but the point is how come when I’m having my daily experiences I’m not experiencing the Ocean of infinity in everything that I do?

And we have described in detail how this rigmarole happens in the ego and the intellect and in the mind and the brain and the physiology that makes us feel that we are disconnected.

Another way to describe what dis-allows that experiences is simply stress or illusion, a belief of illusion or the lack of education of that but here is the interesting thing.

You actually even without any additional training have a way to experience infinity within yourself, every day, many times a day and you do it but
it is so quick and so outside of the realm of how you measure and judge experience, that you don’t even notice it.

What am I talking about? This is very very cool technique that Albert Einstein used to transcend.

Transcend means to leave behind all the complications, all of the rigmarole of our lives, of the Universe of that which is outside of us and that which exists inside of us as the details to just have that experience of the unified field, pure consciousness, infinity experiencing itself and we can call that transcending.

Transcending means to go beyond everything else that is. To go to where only wholeness exists and only wholeness resides.

Now the truth is that there is a gap between Rhode Island and New York and Rhode Island and Connecticut and Rhode Island and the Ocean and there is a gap between the Ocean and the air and there is a gap between you and the air around you and there is a gap between it all.

So in spite of that is still a gap around things because when the ocean touches the shore, there is a part that is no longer Ocean but is not yet shore or there is a part that is Rhode Island next to New York that is no longer Rhode Island but it is not yet New York.

Now it may be really really really really really really small.

Certainly with a powerful microscope that one could see atoms, one could- and the space round atoms if there was such a thing, maybe there is ...

[Then, maybe I did not swallow; maybe it is stuck in the back of my throat ...]

So there is this very very very fine line between the State of Rhode Island and the State of New York, the Ocean and the Beach and between waking and sleeping or sleeping and dreaming.

There is a point where there’s less wakefulness, less wakefulness, less wakefulness and then suddenly there’s no wakefulness but sleep has not entered yet but it’s infinitely short and it’s very very brief and it’s that, in that moment that the mind transcends and then the next state of conscious- ness arises and then we- it happens when we switch from sleep to dream, from sleep to waking, dreaming to waking.

Each of times we switch- change states of consciousness, this happens. Thus somehow Albert Einstein who is one of the fore runners of unified field theory and one of the most brilliant people that that we certainly are aware of at modern times, he was aware of this and when he had prob- lems that he was having difficulty solving.

He used to sit at his desk with a pencil, the point of a pencil under his chin and he would just start to nod off and fall asleep and as soon as he fell asleep, his head would fall forward, his chin would be stabbed by the pen- cil that he was holding and he would wake up and in that process he would transcend twice.

He would have that experience of going beyond thought, beyond space and time, into this uninfinite arena, he would do it- it would happen, falling asleep, waking up and then he would fall asleep again and wake up and fall asleep again and he would do this for hours and just have that experience.

Nowadays you can practice transcendental meditation, taught by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi for 20 minutes or there is other techniques other meditation teachers offer that teach you this.

Our own web site, we have certain courses and programs that move you in this direction and awaken wholeness in you but theTranscendental Meditation™ (TM®) program is a very good one.. You do not have to poke yourself with a pencil but that is a technique, that if you want right there, it is free .

You can get a pencil, it does not have to be a pencil, use a fork, use your fingernail but you can do that and start gaining the benefits of infinity.

It is not the way that we recommend but the point is, it is part of who you are, it is just part of your nervous system and it is part of the constitution that makes up your humanness.

Now we talked about the structure of knowledge which is that there is a Knower, there is a link between the Knower and the Object that they are knowing and the Object itself and in Sanskrit terms it is called- the Rishi is the Knower, Davita is the Link between them and Chandas which is defined as that which hides is the Object and isn’t that interesting that the Object of perception is called, that which hides and what does it hide?

It hides your own infinite nature.

It is what it hides and so these tools and techniques that we have been talk- ing about to help you contact that field of infinity and to be experiencing that in your life, this is to remove that aspect of having been hidden.

And what this whole point of spirituality does, is that it allows us to live a life of grace.

Not a moment of grace but a life of grace.

[And we will have to find and include that whole section about gracing here, which we will find and that will go in here. OK]

Now the whole point about observing, is that it is known that when we observe something, when notice it, we change it.

This is from physics when they were trying to determine whether light was a wave or a particle, what they discovered was that when they were not paying attention to it, it acted like a wave but when they all turned to look at it to see what was doing, it acted like a particle and these were measur- able differences and what was learned is that when we observe something, when we put our attention to it, it changes it and it also grows in our lives.

So will be talking about some things that we can do later on to will help us live a life worthy of what we actually want.

There are some things that we can do. Very effortless things that we can do with attention and habits that we can culture that will allow us to be much more fulfilled.
