Spiritual Living

Chapter 12

Back To You, Reader

The thing about spiritual living in a crazy, screwy, nutso world is that we actually have three themes that we are running through the whole time.

At the first is, don’t take life too seriously, you know there is quirkiness, there is a silliness, there is foolishness and they’re all going to end in change no matter what you like or don’t like anyway so don’t be too shaken are stirred by any particular event or circumstance in your life.

So that’s theme one. Theme two is living in grace that- as a permanent state of life where one is completely in tune with Divine Law, Divine Love, Divine Grace and in every single moment everything is taken care of for you in the most perfect way and this is how we want everyone to live and enjoy and feel fulfilled.

And the third is, that everyone is one’s own responsibility- you are your own responsibility and what that means is whether that you experience happiness and joy or pain and suffering or anything in between, whether you go to the movie are you have a cup of coffee, entirely up to you much more so, and this is life in freedom. Is that complete responsibility, that complete acceptance of responsibility with the understanding that it does not matter, complete freedom.

No it does matter, we are going to talk about that but it doesn’t matter so we’re just going to let this apparent contradiction and quandary just sit there to muddle your mind for a few chapters. We will come back to it later. OK.

Now when we pray or we connect to the Divine we want to connect to the highest because the highest can- or maybe we don’t but if we do you know it is like you can be friends with the King or the President of the Bank
or whatever you’re going to get more working out for you than if your friends with the Fisher or Teller.

So you know it make sense to go for the highest. So if we’re going to go for the highest then we don’t want to waste time, we want to know who is the highest, let’s just you know cut to the chase tell me who to pray to and you know is it Lord Christ? Is it Mother Mary?Virgin Mary? Is it Quant Yeng? Is it The Great Spirit?, Twae Kon Doe? Is it Vishnu? Is it Shiva? Is it Mother Divine? Is it Suriya, the Son? Is it- is it- is it you know, is it God? Or Jehovah? Or- and are they really different? Or are they all the same? Or how does this work? Give me a break down, give me the goods here.

So the interesting thing is in the Srimad Devi Bhagavatam', there is a story there is a story, an episode that happens where someone goes and ask Lord Brahma, remember Lord Brahma is a creator of creation according to of that tradition. Shiva creates Vishnu, Vishnu is sleeping in this cosmic ocean on a couch and on the back of a snake if I remember and while he is sleeping a Lotus grows out of his navel, the Lotus blooms, there is Brahm and Brahm creates creation.

So somebody goes to Brahma and asked Brahma who should they pray to and Brahma said, “funny you should ask because at one time I had the same question and I went to Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva and we were discussing this and while we were discussing this Mother Divine appeared.”

Now, the interesting thing is that historically in India the Divine Mother is in a hierarchical structure above Shiva, Vishnu and Brahma in a way that nourishes and supports them and it just is that way ...

So Mother Divine appeared and she took the three of them Brahm Shiva and Vishnu some of other- maybe the term is dimension, some other cre- ation, some other creation of Brahm that none of them recognized that was the creation of a different Brahm than the one who is having this discus- sion and he said, “Then we were all amazed, we had no idea that this cre- ation even existed” and while they were still kind of stunned and wonder- ing, thinking that was pretty cool, she took them to another creation that was created by Vishnu’s which of course would have a creation of Brahm within it, that again not of them had any awareness of, then to a third world if you will, universe creation created by again a different aspect of Shiva that none of them had any awareness of and then finally to another realm of Divine Mother, with a different Divine Mother and they were awed by this and they wanted to spend time with this Divine Mother who was in this garden and attended by female beings and the only way they could get into the garden was to be females, so Brahm Vishnu and Shiva all became female and went in and spent a year with this Mother Divine and you know attending to her and Brahm says at one time during- while they were there, he saw a reflection in her toe nail, a small reflection in her toe nail which was the entire creation that he knew about.

And then they came back and his point of it was so when someone asks, “who is the highest, who is the most perfect one to pray to” Brahm’s an- swer, this is the Creator’s answer, “no one knows.”

Now, the reason we tell you all of this is twofold one, don’t take yourself

so seriously and two don’t take your believe patterns so seriously because if God doesn’t know who you should pray for, you certainly don’t and you certainly are not in a position and nor is your neighbor or the person in the next State are in another Country to enforce a particular belief pattern on you and saying this is the only way to go.

They are all good, and the second point of the story is, you know just pick somebody great and pray to that persons and even some point you change who you want to pray to, that’s fine and if you never do, that’s fine too, whoever you believe is who you should pray to is exactly who you should pray to but allow that courtesy to everyone else.

It is not your responsibility to determine who someone else should pray to. we just offer the wisdom that we have and the experiences but it’s all good because just in the same way that someone may call you a Cousin, a Brother, a Father, or a Son and you are not offended by any of these, someone calling God the Son because the sun nourishes, or The Great Spirit, or whatever the it’s- don’t be so concerned take it easy.

OK. Now, the next thing that we want to talk about is our relationship to God. What is the nature of man and woman and humans. How do we relate to God, now that we have just talk about-

[Whatever we have just talked about.]

The story is or what we hear is that man is born in the image of God and that’s kind of misleading because it isn’t that God has two hands and two arms and two legs and one nose and all that because let’s face it, God’s nervous system can handle a whole lot more than ours can because God can be aware simultaneously of everything going on everywhere and one nose may not be enough but maybe it is I don’t know we know not my call but the point is that this idea of being born in the image of God makes us and this is by the way a mistranslation.

It is not actually the image of God in the sense of a picture that you take with the camera. This misunderstanding may be an anonymous transla- tion but it’s not like a camera and born in the image of God and born in the structure of God, that is that the nature of how I function as a human being is proportional, is exactly the same as the way God functions but on a minute scale, on a much much much smaller scale.

God creates creation by thinking, by desiring, by intending and we create our lives from our thoughts consciously or unconsciously and this is a very interesting point because when God creates creation and says, “Let there be light, let there be a man, let there be woman, let there be so many dif-

God does not have to sit there and be at the draft board and design the human physiology and say, “OK, I will put and eye over here and oh wouldn’t it look great if I had an eye on the other side too and I’ll try one on the back of the head. No. That doesn’t look so great” and the- God does not do that.

God says just let there be this and the tendency or the principal of humans is already structured in the all possibilities that exist within the unified field, that exists within consciousness and God’s consciousness and your consciousness.

So when he says let there be this, these things come out already designed as it were, just like the seed has inherent within it the tree and in fact our future trees that would ever arise from the seed must somehow be in that seed.

And if you had the right microscope or if you have the right tools to be able to perceive it in that seed you could find all of them but we don’t have that vision but God does and in the same way when God says let there be the- this- let there be humans, let there be light, let there be water, let there be nourishment, let there be joy, the qualities already exists in an as-if structured way and structured in part by the thought and the intention that creates them.

Now you are Divine purposes, and this is what is really cool is you create with your thoughts. This is what God does. God creates with his thoughts, you create ... or her thoughts ... you create with your thoughts, so in the same way that God can create creation you can create your own creation, your own world, your own experiences, your own set of experiences, that can be exactly what you want and if you are not experiencing things that are exactly what you want, you-the cool thing is, you can change them easily and effortlessly and some people believe that you have to change them by you know, by bending not only with your bare hands or punching a hole are driving this or the world is so out of my hands and there is so many things that I see are wrong and the world and all of that and we are going to talk about this as we continue but the ability to see wrong, is something in the world, is actually something that is inherent within you and that can be fixed.

Today in the world there are many products and programs that are coming to help you evolve and grow in the ways you would like, in the areas most important to you. There are ways for you to create the world that you want, effortlessly, innocently simply just by letting go, and by letting these new tendencies come in.

It is not difficult it is not as hard as you think, unless you want it to be hard and if that is your intention, by all means you can create that as well.

The truth is there are people who like to suffer or who think they like to suffer and there are "poor poor pitiful me" people and if you want to be one of those persons by all means, enjoy yourselves immensely but enjoy your suffering and know that you could change into simply bliss and happiness and almost overnight if you want it to. Just read more in this book and website.

Look at a beautiful picture of Himalayas, or Swiss Alps, or Pacific Ocean or waterfalls or coral reefs or.... Here is what the world looks like and is it not beautiful? It is this beautiful picture where you can see the sky and the sun off to the side because otherwise it would blur the camera and the mountains and the water and the lakes and streams and it is just gorgeous.

But anyway, to further what your goals and ideas are, but is it not fabulous what the World looks like?

Now ....
[Did we do that already?]

Now here’s what a person looks like, remember we explained that squiggly little plates of spaghetti that we talked about before, so here is what you look like, this is again the mud on your windshield, and this is how you are trying to see the world.

And how did this happen? Is because we have freedom of choice, one of the greatest gifts that the Divine has given to us as human beings.

See before we were people, when we were animals, we are just in the flow of nature, we are just in the flow of-the will of God. Animals go by, you know it is said that they respond by things in their spinal column, they do not actually think things through, they just have built-in responses and these are how nature organized this but because people have freedom of choice as you get to a more evolved nervous system, you can choose to get out of sync.

See an animal knows to run and hide when something is coming but you can decide to stay and fight. You can decide to- or the animal decides- knows that it should stay and fight this and win the female or whatever or strut his stuff or whatever but the animals has that built within him.

You have the choice to be too shy to talk to the men or women whichever is appropriate, or you can go up and say something bold and crass and you could win the hand, and you could lose the hand and know when to hold them know when to fold them but animals can’t do that.

Now we can get out of sync. This is what is really interesting. We tend to think of ourselves as one, that means that within the body within the realm of experience that I live, I am one entity for lack of a better word, one persona, one person.

And on one level but the truth is, that’s not true and it’s not true in your own experience because, sometimes you are mad and you respond a par- ticularly way and sometimes you are happy and you respond a particularly way and sometimes your horny and you respond a particularly way and sometimes you are asleep and you don’t respond at all or in dreams you may do something completely different and sometimes you are motivated by greed and sometimes you are motivated by generosity and sometimes you are motivated by what you see and sometimes you are motivated by what you believe, and like this what happens is, all these squiggly strands in the spaghetti plate that we have talked about, of the ego, the intellect, the mind the sense, all of these things as if, have their- or as if little eddies in the river that have their own belief patterns, their own thought patterns and depending on which one you’re accessing- and it’s more like a- the eddy not that it’s permanently turning around but it is as if the river flows into this little loop, stays there for a little while and then moves on. It is always moving on.

Now, because of this, what you think at any particular time, your opinion or your interpretation of the environment can be from any one of these, almost innumerable loops, that exist in your ego, mind, intellect, senses and in your body.

And because depending on which loop is being accessed, the simple anal- ogy is a computer. When you go to you with your computer, your com- puter has all possibilities. It can respond in many many many different ways. It can show you a movie you can offer you a game it can show you an e-mail, it can show you porn, it can show you all kinds of things, OK, depending on how you access it.

So there are programs for calculating math, for doing the budget, for send- ing an e-mail, for browsing the web, for gaining information there might be a Dictionary, there might be a Spellchecker, there might be OK ...

So all of these different things, and because of this when you go to use the computer, what it will show you, is determined by which program you access.

If you open a calculating program because you are going to do the budget, then it is going to show you that world. It is going to show you, the num- bers that exist. It is going to show you the relationships, it is going to show you the spreadsheet, it is going to be able to move within that realm, but from that realm, that is all that it knows.

It’s cannot for instance become a web browser, it cannot show you porn, it cannot show you God, it can show you the definition of- I mean, I under- stand that there are some programs that incorporate many different pro- grams but you understand the analogy even those that incorporate many different, that’s even more akin to have a human systems works.

How the human mind works is, you have one master program but it has all of these sub programs within it.

And depending on which one you have most recently accessed, that is how you view the world. That’s how you view the world, so what that means
is if the most recent one that you have accessed is someone has just an- noyed you, then when you go to the next activity or the next perception, it is colored by that.

If the last thing is that you have just had the most fulfilling passionate evening with the love of your life, then there are all these endorphins that have been kicked in and all of this happiness and that colors what a beauti- ful world.

I mean that’s what all of the poetry is about, people who are fulfilled and loved, see the world as something perfect, “Oh what a wonderful world.”

Whether it’s divine love or human love this is a that experience and those who have unrequited love or unfulfilled love in all of the poetry and painting about this, about not knowing God,

Now, what is ideal, is that although these little squiggles and all of these little eddies and all of these little sub programs within us should all be fine-tuned to allow us to experience grace, to allow us to find the best if this is what we want in every single moment.
This is what spiritual living is. It allows us to ....
